Chula Vista University

Description:

The concept of locating a four-year university in Chula Vista was introduced back in 1993, when the Otay Ranch General Development Plan was adopted. Land acquisition got underway in 2007 when 230 acres, some of it open space, were transferred to the City by developers Brookfield Shea and the EastLake Company. In April 2008, another 50 acres were acquired from the Otay Land Company. On May 20, 2008, Councilmembers unanimously approved the transfer of 160 acres from JPB Development to the City of Chula Vista. That transfer brought the total acreage for the University Park and Research Center site to approximately 375 acres. Continue reading

Description:

The Otay-Tijuana Venture LLC has plans to build a cross-border facility that will connect a terminal in San Diego (in Otay-Mesa) the Tijuana Airport. Airline passengers would park in the U.S., check their bags at a proposed  65,000 sq foot terminal, walk across a 500-foot pedestrian bridge across the U.S.-Mexico border, and board a plane at the Tijuana Airport. Bayshore Bikeway

The Bayshore Bikeway is a bike path that will extend 24 miles around San Diego Bay. The current length of the built bikeway is about 13 of the planned 24 miles (not including the two spurs on Saturn Boulevard and up to H Street from Marina Parkway).
