State Route 11 (SR 11) and a new Port of Entry (POE) at East Otay Mesa will improve the efficient movement of people, goods, and services between the United States and Mexico. Description of Project

The San Ysidro Port of Entry is the busiest land border crossing in the Western Hemisphere. It processes approximately 50,000 northbound vehicles and 25,000 northbound pedestrians per day. Currently, there are 6 soutbound lanes and 24 northbound lanes. A recent SANDAG study estimates an 87% increase in vehicular traffic in San Ysidro by the year 2030. Continue reading
